Thank you for wanting to find out how you can help. David and his supporters are exploring numerous ways for us to publicize his case, and all of the evidence that proves his innocence.
As of June 2005 by far the best way people can help is to sign the sign the New Online Petition for Release Pending Deportation, launched June 10, 2005! This petition simply asks that the US government exercises its power to allow David Wong (now exonerated from being wrongly convicted of murder in 1987) a chance to wait outside immigration detention with his supporters, friends, and relatives until he is deported. David has fully served his time and been rehabilitated for a robbery conviction in 1983 when he was an immature young man. Now, he is a mature adult in his 40s and patiently fought for over 17 years to clear his name of an incorrect murder conviction. His supporters are asking the government to allow David to wait outside immigration detention until he is deported because he is not a threat to the very community that has rallied behind him to prove his innocence.
